In zinc alloy die casting, Zamak 2, Zamak 3, and Zamak 5 are commonly used zinc-aluminum alloys.

The main difference among these materials is their copper content, which affects strength, hardness, ductility, dimensional stability, and long-term aging performance.


In general, Zamak 3 is the most widely used and versatile zinc die casting alloy.

Zamak 5 contains approximately 1% copper, providing higher strength and hardness than Zamak 3.

Zamak 2 contains approximately 3% copper and offers the highest strength and hardness among the Zamak family.

But its long-term dimensional stability, ductility, and impact resistance should be carefully considered.
