From a mechanical performance perspective,

Zamak 2 provides the highest strength, hardness, shear strength, and creep resistance among Zamak 2, Zamak 3, and Zamak 5.

It is suitable for applications where mechanical strength, rigidity, and wear resistance are the main priorities.

Zamak 5 offers higher strength and hardness than Zamak 3, while maintaining good die casting performance.

It is often selected for locks, hardware fittings, mechanical parts, and components that require better resistance to deformation or wear.

Zamak 3 provides the best overall balance of castability, dimensional stability, ductility, and production reliability

It is generally the most suitable choice for standard zinc die casting parts, especially when the product requires stable mass production, good surface finishing, or better dimensional consistency.

The following table provides typical mechanical property values in metric units for Zamak 2, Zamak 3, and Zamak 5.

These values are approximate reference data only and may be used for preliminary engineering evaluation, material comparison, and early-stage CAE / FEA simulation.
